Narasi keberpihakan: Kajian sejarah komitmen Nahdlatul Ulama terhadap isu Palestina dari era kolonial hingga kontemporer

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict presents a multifaceted humanitarian crisis that has captured international discourse. Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), as a pivotal Islamic organization, underscores its commitment to the Palestinian struggle, highlighting its influence within the geopolitical context. This study adopts a postcolonial theoretical framework to analyze NU’s involvement from both historical and contemporary viewpoints. Employing qualitative methodology, the research utilizes a historiographic approach, incorporating in-depth interviews, analyses of historical documents, and a thorough review of relevant literature. Findings reveal that NU’s dedication to the Palestinian cause has remained unwavering since the colonial period, exemplifying its foundational principles of solidarity and social justice. NU’s engagement in various initiatives—including fundraising campaigns, solidarity prayers, and efforts in international diplomacy—illustrates an active commitment that transcends symbolic gestures. These actions contribute to heightened public awareness and significantly shape Indonesia’s foreign policy in the global arena.
