Industri media online di Sumatera Barat: Kajian Padangmedia.com tahun 2007-2022

Abstract

This study discusses the development of online media in West Sumatra with a focus on padangmedia.com. The media studied is the first online media and as an industry continues to grow. Its development continues to adapt to society and culture, both in terms of content and technical aspects. The content of this media includes aspects of art, knowledge, and entertainment.  The main problem in this study is the history and development of the online media industry padangmedia.com (Padang) during the period (2007-2022). The method used in this study is the historical method. The steps in historical research are heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. This study uses primary and secondary sources. Based on the results of this study, the online media industry emerged in West Sumatra marked by the establishment of padangmedia.com on July 7, 2007. As an industry, padangmedia.com is the first online media in West Sumatra. Since its first appearance in 2007, it has indirectly had an impact on the development of the online media industry in West Sumatra. As the first online media, padangmedia.com is likened to a pioneer of other online media in West Sumatra.
