The lack of delivery of history textbook material that describes Indonesia as a whole gives the impression of narrative dominance in certain regions, including events in the Java region. From this phenomenon, this research then focuses on the description of jawasentris in Indonesian History textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture by using the type of critical content analysis research with qualitative descriptive method. Content analysis was used to identify the tendency of Java-centred narratives in textbook discourse through indicators that have been formulated. The results of the study found that jawasentris appears in the placement of more Javanese events and placing records of historical events in other regions as a complement to the narrative. The analysis conducted in this study includes elements of topic, scheme, meaning to the author’s emphasis on textbook discourse. The results found that this jawasentris discourse was not identified in the textbook. The main reason for this statement is because the author also included narratives in areas outside Java but with less developed descriptions. Therefore, the jawasentris meaning identified is only limited to the description of Javanese events which have a broader and more specific discussion compared to events outside Java with limited coverage.
