Abstract

The deterioration in the patriotism of today’s students deserves attention. It needs cultivation of the understanding of local history, the ability to think critically and creatively in the learning process. This study aims to find whether there is a relationship between understanding local history in South Kalimantan, the ability to think critically and the ability to think creatively separately and together with patriotism. This research was carried out in the public high schools throughout Banjar Regency, with correlational quantitative methods. The study population was all students of class XI of the Banjar Regency’s public high school. The research sample was 202 students from a population of 488 students. The data collection process uses an instrument to test local history understanding, the ability to think critically and creatively, and a questionnaire on patriotism. Data analysis techniques used correlation analysis, simple regression and multiple regression with a significance level of 5%.
