Abstract

This article is a historiographic review of high school history textbooks that reveal aspects of mythology and ideology. The method used in this research is content analysis method. The books analyzed in this study are the historical narratives contained in the History lesson textbooks of high school class XI written by Habib Mustofo et al., And published by Judasira based on the 2004 competency-based curriculum. The results show that there are mythologies and ideologies in history lesson textbooks. in senior high school. This shows the state’s ideology in building the concept of Nationalism in history textbooks. The writing of historical material in textbooks is made for the sake of education, so that historical material is adjusted for the achievement of historical education goals. The state usually conducts mythologization and historical ideologization through the creativity of writing history in order to find common cultural heritage, the similarity of heroes, common norms, similarities in traditional customs.
