Abstract

This article discusses about military influence in forming national identity through history subject textbook for senior high school. The idea came from the position of text book which has important role in cultivationg national identity. In this article, discourse analysis methods is used to asses the content of Indonesian Revolution era (1945-1950). The sources were gained by using study literatures from books, journals, and relevant internet articles. The result shows that narratives in the textbook are influenced by military perspective. It can be found from heroic narratives of military figures. On the other hand, politicians’ roles are not really highlighted.
