Abstract

The background of this research emerged as the author’s interest in the women movement  especially women figure Raden Ajeng Sutartinah, her name has not heard much by society. This research has a main point  about answering the question “How 
the Figure of  Raden Ajeng Sutartinah on fighting the rightness education for Women by Wanita Tamansiswa organization between 1922-1971?”. the author took a studies with applying historical method which is divided into three steps, such as heuristics, 
criticism and historiography. In heuristics steps, author was collected data from literature studies technic. Based on the research the author can describe that Raden Ajeng Sutartinah was the genealogies of Paku Alaman, the value of survive and struggle 
was obtained from the family core value that lived among the Dutch Indies colonial power in the same era. She did various paths for women educational rights from the founding of Wanita Tamansiswa organization, being the first women’s congress, and  
fight against the illegal school policy in 1932, then the supreme leader of Tamansiswa union and Wanita Tamansiswa organization. During her struggle she was able to obtain positive achievements such as the implementation of vocational skill for women 
to Tamansiswa members and the founding of Taman Dewanti Foundation under the shelter to the Center of  Wanita Tamansiswa organization.
