Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the Arya Kamuning Site in Bunter Village is utilized as a learning resource in history education and to identify the character education values embedded within it. As an important local historical heritage, the Arya Kamuning Site holds significant potential to serve as a contextual medium for history learning, particularly in strengthening students’ character development. This research employed a narrative qualitative approach, with data collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with experts, and documentation of relevant historical sources. The findings reveal that the Arya Kamuning Site contains rich historical significance related to the struggle for independence and the formation of local cultural identity. Furthermore, it embodies essential character education values such as tolerance, hard work, responsibility, patriotism, and religious devotion. These values can be integrated into history learning through various strategies, including field trips, site-based teaching materials, and student participation in cultural preservation programs. The study suggests the development of history learning programs grounded in local historical sites to enhance students’ historical understanding while simultaneously strengthening character education. Thus, site-based learning not only provides a meaningful and contextualized learning experience but also contributes to cultural preservation and the reinforcement of national values.
