Abstract

Background of research took the theme based on a situation in early 2020, the Covid-19 virus that causes all outside activities stopped. So the learning process becomes Distance Learning that activities at SMAN 13 Bandung is a school that uses Google Classroom as a distance learning platform. The main problem in this research is “How to optimize the use of Google Classroom in learning history at SMAN 13 Bandung class XI IPS?” Based on these problems, the author divides it into four problem formulations. How are the teacher’s efforts in planning history learning through Google Classroom? How do teachers and students carry out history learning through Google Classroom? How do teachers evaluate in history learning using Google Classroom? How do teachers and students overcome the obstacles that occur when history learning through Google Classroom?. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive study. The results of this study indicate that Google Classroom is very helpful in online learning activities. The features in Google Classroom help teachers in the prepare, implement and evaluate of learning. History teachers and students of SMAN 13 Bandung can make good use Google Classroom so that online learning is quite optimal even though there are still obstacles that occur when carrying out learning. Teachers and students can overcome that.
